Utonagan - Spirit of the Wolf

Whilst the breed did not take on the name Utonagan until the year 2000, it has ever been the intent that they should be bred to look like wolves.

It's foundations go back to the late sixties when a woman with a vision started the initial crosses between Alaskan Malamute, Siberian Husky & German Shepherd Dog. We are lucky enough to have on board founder members some of whom have been involved in the breed since it's inception and have recently been able to both provide us with, and source more original stock in order to improve our blood lines.

Whilst heath tests in the breed only began in the year 2004, they are now leading the way and we are beginning to get a picture of a way to move forward, for the health, temperament and the future of the breed, our main aim being Kennel Club recognition.
